The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Europe met with officials and staff of the Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary and stated:
“The Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf Al-Ashraf has consistently supported humanitarian initiatives marked by professionalism, integrity, excellence in execution, and compliance with Shariah principles, in fulfilment of its religious and moral responsibility to society.”

Coinciding with the last Friday of Sha’ban, Al-Ayn celebrated its twentieth anniversary in the presence of a large gathering of members from the Islamic community. The gathering was inaugurated by Grand Scholar Al-Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri with a speech on the occasion, the text of which is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master and Prophet Muhammad, and upon his pure and noble family.
They ask you ˹O Prophet in˺ what ˹way˺ they should donate. Say, “Whatever donations you give are for parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, and ˹needy˺ travellers. Whatever good you do is certainly well known to Allah.”
Allah, the Most High, has spoken the truth.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Alsalam alaykum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuh.

We gather today on a cherished occasion and at a moment of deep reflection, as we mark twenty years since the establishment of Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation.
This foundation was never merely an administrative title or a passing charitable entity, from its very beginning, it has been a humanitarian mission in action, a practical extension of religious values and a real expression of society’s responsibility towards its most vulnerable members.
Caring for orphaned children, supporting widowed mothers, and standing alongside dignified families in need are not supplementary acts within the Islamic ethos; they lie at the very heart and spirit of the faith.
The Holy Qur’an, the noble Sunnah, and the conduct of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) have strongly emphasised this responsibility. They have made it a measure of sincere faith and a true sign of commitment to divine values.
Al-Ayn was established during a period of profound hardship through which our beloved country passed. Wounds were many, suffering was multiplied, and the numbers of orphaned children and victims of violence and terrorism increased.
In that sensitive phase, there was an urgent need for conscious initiatives driven by religious duty, administered with integrity, and sustained with long-term vision. Initiatives that could fill the gap, embrace suffering, and restore hope to afflicted households.
What stands out in the Foundation’s journey over two decades is not merely the scale of its figures or the breadth of its reach, but the approach it has adopted. An approach founded upon dignified care, one that neither offends the feelings of those in need nor reduces an individual to the circumstances of their hardship. Rather, it views each person with dignity and treats them as a trust that must be safeguarded.
The Supreme Religious Authority has always been, and continues to be, committed to supporting projects distinguished by professionalism, integrity, transparency, and strong performance. This stems from its religious and moral responsibility towards society and from its belief that organised charitable work, when coupled with sincerity and competence, is among the most effective means of preserving social harmony, strengthening solidarity, and building trust within the community.
Through the diverse services it has provided in livelihood support, education, healthcare, and social care, Al-Ayn has demonstrated that charitable work can be institutional, professional, and sustainable—far removed from improvisation or seasonal charity, and aligned with the spirit of Islam, which calls for organised benevolence rather than sporadic giving.
On this anniversary, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to those who lead this foundation, those who work within it, the volunteers, the supporters, and to everyone who has contributed with an idea, an effort, financial support, or time. All in order to bring a smile to the face of an orphaned child, to preserve the dignity of a family, or to ease the hardship of those in need.
We also affirm that the continuation of this giving requires safeguarding trust, strengthening sincerity, developing performance in line with evolving challenges, and steering clear of anything that might undermine public confidence in this blessed work.
Those who serve in this field represent not only themselves, but also the name of the foundation and its noble aims. As well as the trust placed in it by the people and the religious authority alike.
The ethics, conduct, and manner in which staff engage with orphaned children and dignified families are the true mirror by which the worth and nobility of this work are measured.
Let your mission be reflected in your character, and let your generosity be accompanied by compassion. Let your organisation be coupled with humility, and your commitment to rights infused with gentleness. So that this foundation may remain a shining symbol of Islamic values and a living embodiment of human dignity.
The twenty years that have passed represent a wealth of experience, yet at the same time they mark the beginning of a new phase. A phase that calls for greater planning, evaluation, and responsible openness, so that this humanitarian foundation may remain faithful to its purpose, steadfast in its principles, and close to the pains and hopes of the people.
We ask Allah, the Exalted, to accept all sincere deeds, to bless these efforts and place them on the scale of good deeds, to protect our Iraq and its people, and to grant success to all those working in the fields of goodness in that which pleases Him and serves His servants.
“For indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.”
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
Wa alsalam alaykum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuh.
