The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Europe stressed the importance of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), stating:
Reviving their cause is not the responsibility of scholars and preachers alone; rather, it is the responsibility of every lover and follower. The scholar revives their cause through his knowledge, the preacher through his sermons, the teacher through his instruction, the father through his upbringing, the mother through instilling values in her children, the merchant through his honesty, the employee through his sincerity, and the youth through his uprightness. The closer a person comes to the noble character of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and the more he introduces people to the beauty of their teachings and way of life, the greater his contribution to reviving their cause.

He made these remarks at the Ahl al-Bayt Foundation on the third day of Muharram, citing the narration of Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him): “May Allah have mercy on a servant who revives our cause.”
It was asked: “How can one revive your cause?” The Imam replied: “He learns our teachings and teaches them to the people, for if people were to know the beauty of our words, they would surely follow us.”
He then explained how we can implement the words of Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him) while living through the days of mourning for his grandfather, Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him). First: Spreading Correct Belief and Preserving Divine Law
Among the foremost ways of reviving their cause is spreading sound Islamic belief, preserving the Sharia and its rulings, promoting noble moral values, defending truth and justice, building a conscious and faithful individual, preserving the identity of the Muslim nation, and strengthening its connection with Allah. Reviving their cause means keeping these principles alive within individuals and societies.


Second: Reviving Their Cause Through Knowledge and Learning The first matter emphasized in the noble narration is learning their teachings and conveying them to others.
Ignorance is among the greatest threats facing societies; therefore, Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) strongly emphasized the dissemination of knowledge. Every believer can contribute to reviving their cause by:
* Reading and reflecting upon the Holy Qur’an.
* Studying the narrations of Ahl al-Bayt.
* Learning about their blessed biographies.
* Attending religious lessons and lectures.
* Promoting authentic Islamic culture within society.
A person may be a preacher, professor, writer, teacher, father, or mother, and each is capable of playing an important role in transmitting the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
It is unfortunate that some people know much about historical figures or foreign cultures while remaining unaware of the most basic information about their own Imams, whose love and obedience Allah has made obligatory.
Every book that is read, lecture that is delivered, article that is written, and lesson that is taught represents a form of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Third: Reviving Their Cause Through Good Character
People are not attracted to ideas through words alone; they are attracted by practical examples.
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: “Be an adornment for us, and do not be a disgrace upon us.”
When people witness honesty, trustworthiness, humility, mercy, and kindness among the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), they are encouraged to respect and learn about this school of thought.
However, if a person claims loyalty to Ahl al-Bayt while mistreating others, oppressing them, or deceiving them, he harms the very cause he claims to defend.
Therefore, among the greatest manifestations of reviving their cause are truthfulness in speech, fulfilling promises, respecting others, showing kindness to neighbors, caring for the poor and needy, and practicing forgiveness and tolerance. Morality is a language understood by everyone.

Fourth: Reviving Their Cause Through Commemorating Husayni Rituals
One of the most significant manifestations of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt is commemorating Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him), his family, and his companions.
The narrations emphasize the importance of Husayni gatherings, mourning for Imam al-Husayn, visiting his shrine, and expressing grief over his tragedy.
These rituals are not merely emotional practices; they are educational, cultural, and spiritual institutions that preserve the identity of the nation.
Through Husayni gatherings, people learn the values of sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, enjoining good and forbidding evil, supporting truth, and rejecting oppression and tyranny.
For this reason, Husayni assemblies have, throughout history, been among the most important means of preserving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt and spreading their teachings and principles.

Fifth: Reviving Their Cause Through Raising Children
One of the greatest challenges facing societies today is the intellectual and cultural pressures targeting younger generations.
Therefore, one of the most important ways of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt is to raise our children upon the love of Allah, love of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), love of Ahl al-Bayt, commitment to prayer and worship, honesty, trustworthiness, and chastity.
Children should also be introduced to the lives of Imam Ali, Lady Fatimah al-Zahra, Imam al-Hasan, Imam al-Husayn, and the other Imams (peace be upon them all), so that they become living role models in their hearts and minds.
A father who instills loyalty to Ahl al-Bayt in his child and a mother who connects her children to their legacy are both participating in reviving their cause.

Sixth: Reviving Their Cause Through Serving Others
The lives of Ahl al-Bayt were filled with service to the poor and needy.
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) would carry food at night to the homes of orphans and widows, while Imam al-Hasan, Imam al-Husayn, and Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon them) were renowned for helping the needy and caring for the vulnerable.
Thus, charitable work and social service are among the clearest manifestations of reviving their cause.
Sponsoring an orphan, assisting a poor person, fulfilling the needs of a believer, reconciling people, or contributing to humanitarian projects all embody the ethics of Ahl al-Bayt in practical life.
Their teachings state that fulfilling the needs of a believer is among the greatest acts of nearness to Allah.

Seventh: Reviving Their Cause Through Defending Truth
Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) were never advocates of passivity or indifference; rather, they were champions of reform and justice.
Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) sacrificed himself and his family so that truth would remain alive within the Muslim community.
Accordingly, reviving their cause requires standing with the oppressed, rejecting injustice and deviation, spreading awareness among people, defending religious and moral values, and responding to misconceptions with wisdom and knowledge.
Such defense must be carried out within the framework of Islamic ethics and law, far removed from hostility, abuse, or aggression toward others.

Eighth: Reviving Their Cause in the Age of Media
Today we live in an age in which media and social networking platforms have become among the most influential means of communication.
Therefore, every believer can contribute to reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt by sharing meaningful messages, authentic narrations, information about their blessed lives, scholarly responses to misconceptions, and by supporting beneficial cultural and media initiatives.
A single meaningful post or short video may become a means of guiding someone or introducing them to the school of Ahl al-Bayt.
What is essential, however, is that whatever is shared be accurate, well-sourced, and reflective of the noble ethics of this great school.

Conclusion
We ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, to make us among those included in the prayer of Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him): “May Allah have mercy on the one who revives our cause.” We ask Him to grant us success in being callers to the path of Ahl al-Bayt through our actions before our words, and to gather us among their company on the Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit anyone except one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.
