The representative of the Marja’iya in Europe says: Seek cure in the Qur’an for your illnesses and needs because it cures the gravest of illnesses, which is disbelief, hypocrisy and falsehood.
1 Jamada II 1442

His hadith came in response to questions by some young people about the reason behind Muslims’ regression and their frequent affliction and the enemies overcoming them. He replied:

We have not used the divine prescription to treat our ailments and treat our concerns and problems through what the Qur’an presented to us. Allah (s.w.t.) did not create a disease without a medicine for it, and the medicine is in the Book of Allah that brought people out of darkness into light.
((ولقد ضربنا للناس في هذا القرآن من كل مثل لعلهم يتذكرون (صحيح) يرجعون غير صحيح ))

The Qur’an is the basis of religion and the door of Islam, and it is the book of Allah in which He placed His law and the facts of His religion. Allah revealed it to the people as a guide and ordered them to adhere to it because it is the complete word of Allah and his perfect argument anytime anywhere. ((This is a blessed Book We have revealed. So follow it and be mindful ˹of Allah˺, so you may be shown mercy.)) 6:155. Whoever wants to attain both worldly and eschatological happiness has only to follow His path and be guided by His guidance, for it [the Qur’an] is Allah’s table for His creation which He adorned with countless varieties of moral and practical dishes which are the nourishment of the soul and its true perfection. On this table there’s everything which a person needs and benefits from ((We have certainly set forth every ˹kind of˺ lesson for people in this Quran, so perhaps they will be mindful)) 39:27

From the narrations by the holy Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w.):“ This Qur’an is the banquet of Allah so learn from it as much as you can. ” Through the Qur’an itself, we can see the goals for which Allah Almighty sent down His book, and among these goals:

First: Guiding people ((Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the)) 2:185

Second: Warning people ((This is a blessed Book which We have revealed—confirming what came before it—so you may warn the Mother of Cities1 and everyone around it)) 6:92

Third: It is a mercy for people ((This is a blessed Book We have revealed. So follow it and be mindful ˹of Allah˺, so you may be shown mercy.)) 6:155

Fourth: A sermon to the people ((Indeed, We have sent down to you clear revelations, along with examples of those who had gone before you, and a lesson to the God-fearing.)) 24:34

Fifth: It encourages people to be Allah-conscious ((And so We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran and varied the warnings in it, so perhaps they will shun evil or it may cause them to be mindful.)) 20:113

Sixth: Urging people to reflect: ((Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran so that you may understand.)) 12:2 Also ((..And We have sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Reminder, so that you may explain to people what has been revealed for them, and perhaps they will reflect.)) 16:44

Seventh: Reminding people and urging them to be mindful ((˹This is˺ a blessed Book which We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ so that they may contemplate its verses, and people of reason may be mindful.)) 38:29

Eighth: Communicating divine rulings to people ((Indeed, We have sent down the Book to you ˹O Prophet˺ in truth to judge between people by means of what Allah has shown you. So do not be an advocate for the deceitful.)) 4:105

Ninth: Judgment among people ((We have revealed to you the Book only to clarify for them what they differed about, and as a guide and mercy for those who believe.)) 16:64

The question that arises here is: What are the effects of our adherence to the Holy Qur’an?
The answer to that is: Strength from misguidance and winning the divine guidance as said by the Almighty: ((Surely this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers—who do good—that they will have a mighty reward.)) 17:9
((..There certainly has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book)) 5:15 ((through which Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, brings them out of darkness and into light by His Will, and guides them to the Straight Path)) 5:16

Allah's Prophet (s.a.w.w.) said:"(I am leaving for you two precious and weighty Symbols that if you adhere to BOTH of them you shall never go astray after me.
They are, the Book of Allah, and my progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt and they shall not separate from each other till they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)."

In other words, one can say: The Qur’an is the true healer of diseases of the soul and eradicator of diseases of the hearts, and it is the elixir of happiness in both worlds. Whoever wants to cleanse his soul from diseases, moral depravities and oppressive sins, needs to stick to this divine light.
))We send down the Quran as a healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss.)) 17:82

The commander of the faithful, Amirul-Momineen (a.s.), said: (And know that no one after the Qur’an from a group, and no one before the Qur’an was contentedness, so seek [from the Qur’an] your medicine and seek refuge [from the Qur’an] for your pain, because in it there is a cure for the biggest disease, which is disbelief, hypocrisy, falsehood and delusion).

The result of all this is deliverance from torment, because Allah does not punish those who exhibit the Qur’an outwardly and inwardly because that person has become a physical manifestation of the Qur’an [by virtue of his behaviour] and because the Qur’an is Paradise itself, according the Prophet (s.a.w.w.): Read the Qur’an and memorize it because Allah does not torment a heart aware of the Qur’an).

Unfortunately, we see the Qur’an being recited in Muslim forums day and night without applying its contents. On the contrary, they adhere to what the enemies of Islam presented for them and what they take from the methods and approaches that contradict the correct Qur’anic approach, which is exactly what the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) referred to in his saying:

“There will come a time when peoples’ stomachs will preoccupy them, their women will their Qibla, money will be their religion, their honor will be their belongings, and there will be nothing left of the faith except its name, and from Islam except its illustration, and from the Qur’an its study, their mosques well-constructed and their hearts in decline of guidance...

At that time, Allah afflicts them with them with four traits; injustice from authority, lack of time, and injustice from the rulers.” The companions pondered and said: “O Messenger of Allah, do they worship idols.” He (s.a.w.w.) said: “Yes every Dirham for them is an idol.” He (s.a.w.w.) also said: “There will come a time when people will flee from the Ullemas like sheep from a wolf, Allah afflicts them with three things:

The first one, [Allah] removes the blessing from their money, the second puts unjust ruler over them, and the third departure from the world [death] without faith.”

And it was narrated on the authority of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.): “There will come a time when people will only know well attired scholars, and only know the Qur’an by a good voice, and only worship Allah in the month of Ramadhan. If so, then Allah places over them an authority who has no knowledge, no forbearance, and no mercy.”

And on the authority of Anas, on the authority of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.): There will come time when the steadfast in his religion is like one clutching on ember.

We ask Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, to make us among those who apply the Qur’an and are guided [by the Qur’an] and adhere to it and to the immaculate household (a.s.) who are the means of deliverances.
((Had the deniers followed the Right Way, We would have certainly granted them abundant rain to drink)) 72:16
